編者按：主題為“寒假”的澎湃第五屆寒暑假征稿活動正式啟動至今，我們收到了不少小畫家、小作家們的作品。孩子們用文字、圖像、視頻，展示了他們眼中的寒假生活，接下來作品會陸續(xù)刊登。

今天刊登的是來自ValeyVast 英語俱樂部的Joy小朋友的投稿。她說春節(jié)期間，我們吃的餃子有著豐富的寓意，象征著一年的豐收。同時，人們也喜歡穿上紅色的新衣服，寓意著新的一年紅紅火火。人們做的每一件事情都寄托著對新一年的期許。讓我們起來讀一讀她的作文吧。

作品：《Chinese New Year》

Chinese New Year is the Chinese festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional Chinese calendar. It is the most important day for Chinese families with a long history. It has contributed to many traditions in Chinese culture.

During Chinese New Year, people love eating dumplings. Dumplings is a kind of folk food with a sweat history. There is a folk that says there is nothing more delicious than yummy dumplings. Every spring festival, dumplings is an essential delicacy. As the custom in many parts of China, on New Year's Eve, there is no substitute for dumplings. They are an important part of the great feast.

People would like to wear red clothes for the Spring festival, because it heralds prosperity of the new year. As the time goes by, the moral of people wearing red clothes is more extensive. Not only does red make families prosperous in the new year, but also represents the happy atmosphere for Chinese celebration.

People in China love Chinese New Year!
